Which products qualify for review
A product should address a problem relevant to scam prevention, identity protection, account security, privacy, device safety, evidence preservation, or recovery. Availability of an affiliate program is not sufficient.
We may prioritize products with meaningful reader interest, material differences worth explaining, documented security claims, or a category where marketing commonly creates confusion.
Evidence and testing
Evaluation may combine direct use, documented feature checks, official technical material, privacy and terms review, independent laboratory results, third-party audits, regulator records, public incident history, support testing, and price verification. The methods actually used must be stated in the review.
We do not claim hands-on testing when a conclusion is based only on documents or independent research.
Core evaluation criteria
Criteria vary by category but normally include security design, privacy, usability, platform and country availability, support, accessibility, pricing, renewal, cancellation, recovery, independent evidence, material incidents, and limitations. Criteria and weighting should be disclosed before a ranked comparison is published.
Limitations and audience fit
Every review identifies important risks the product does not solve, the user it best fits, and the circumstances in which a free or different option may be better. Security products are not described as complete protection.
Affiliate relationships and samples
Affiliate links, free access, review samples, sponsorships, and other material relationships are disclosed where the recommendation appears. Compensation does not purchase a score, ranking, omission, or favorable conclusion.
If a provider is allowed to check factual product details before publication, it does not receive approval rights over conclusions.
Scores, rankings and awards
A score or “best” label will be used only when the comparison defines the audience, criteria, date, products considered, and material tradeoffs. A product may lead one use case and be inappropriate for another.
TruthTube Files does not sell editorial awards or place a product in a ranking solely because it offers a higher commission.
Updates, price checks and retesting
Reviews display an update date. Material changes to price, ownership, terms, security incidents, features, country availability, or evidence may require retesting or a revised conclusion. Broken affiliate links can be replaced without changing the editorial assessment.
Corrections and reader reports
Product companies and readers may report factual errors through the standard correction process. Commercial pressure does not determine whether a correction is accepted. See the Corrections Policy and Affiliate Disclosure.
